(Stafford Springs, CT)---With the 2011 Stafford Motor Speedway NASCAR Racing season in the history books, it is time once again for competitors to be rewarded for their season-long efforts through the Stafford Motor Speedway point fund and NASCAR contingency awards. In total, Stafford Motor Speedway competitors banked an extra $47,400 in bonus money from the Stafford Motor Speedway Track Point Fund and NASCAR Awards.

At the end of each racing season, Stafford Motor Speedway pays out 5% of its total purses for the year as a point fund for the top-15 points finishers in each of its five weekly divisions. The 2011 Stafford Motor Speedway point fund totaled in excess of $16,900 with track champions Ryan Preece, Ryan Posocco, Matt Galko, Kevin Gambacorta, and Don Wood taking home the lion's share of their respective division's point funds.

Adding to the Stafford Motor Speedway post-season awards was $16,500 in track award money that was paid to the top-10 points finishers from the SK Modified®, Late Model, SK Light Modified, and Limited Late Model divisions. The top-10 in the SK Modifieds® were paid a total of $10,000, the top-10 Late Model drivers $3,000, the top-10 SK Light Modified drivers $2,000, and the top-10 Limited Late Model drivers $1,500.

Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified® drivers also scored well in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Championship Awards. By winning the Connecticut State Championship, Keith Rocco earned $2,500, Ryan Preece earned an extra $1,000 for finishing second in the Connecticut state standings and Woody Pitkat earned an additional $500 for his third place finish in the Connecticut state standings. The top-4 and 5 out of the top-10 drivers in the 2011 Connecticut State points standings were SK Modified® drivers that competed at Stafford Motor Speedway.

In addition to the Stafford Motor Speedway Point Fund, NASCAR Awards, and Whelen All-American Series State Championship Awards, SK Modified® competitor Keith Rocco earned an additional $10,000 bonus for his second place finish in the 2011 Whelen All-American Series national points standings.

The Stafford Speedway Track Point Fund, combined with the various NASCAR Awards, push the final post-season bonus to $47,400 that was paid out to Stafford Motor Speedway competitors for their efforts during the 2011 season.
