CARQUEST CHAMPIONS FOR CHARITIES RETURNS TO STAFFORD FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE SEASON, RACE MOVES TO FRIDAY NIGHT
For Immediate Release

February 14, 2013

(Stafford Springs, CT)---Stafford Motor Speedway’s CARQUEST Champions For Charities race will return for a third consecutive season.  While the CARQUEST Champions For Charities race has normally been tied to the CARQUEST Super Saturday program with the ISMA Supers, NEMA Midgets, and Pro-4 Modifieds, this year’s edition of the charity race will move to Friday night, June 28, the night before the 10th Annual CARQUEST Super Saturday program on Saturday, June 29.

“We’re happy to have the CARQUEST name once again associated with such a great charity effort,” said CARQUEST V.P. of Marketing Rich Pallai.  “With almost $100,000 raised for charity, the CARQUEST Champions For Charities race has been a huge success.  While this race has enabled fans to see some great racing between some of the very best championship-winning drivers in the Northeast, the real winners have been the various charities that the drivers have been racing for.  We’re looking forward to another great race and we’re hoping we can surpass the total from last year of $54,180 for our 2013 Champions For Charities program.”

Each championship-winning driver will be paired up with a charity of their choice and the race between the drivers won’t be limited to just on the Stafford mini-mile.  There will also be a race off the track to see which driver can raise the most money.  The driver who raises the most money will earn the pole position for the 15-lap feature event and the remainder of the starting grid will be determined by their dollar amounts raised for charity.  The drivers who raise the most money will be starting at the front of the grid, with the drivers who raise the lowest amount of money starting at the back of the grid.

The CARQUEST Champions For Charities field of drivers currently sits at 11 former champions from various forms of motorsports, and the lineup for the 3rd Annual edition of CARQUEST Champions For Charities currently looks like this:
